I then receive an automated email from Discord asking if my issue has been resolved. I have done this but have not received a response. The support rep was really friendly, agrees that it was likely the VPN, but that they can't do anything.Īt this point I remember some posts in which u/ReallyAmused asked people that had issues with support to DM him and that he will look into it. I message support and explain my situation, including the fact that I was on public WiFi and behind a VPN (to protect myself) and that that's likely the reason their system flagged my account, but that I would be willing to prove I'm a human without giving up sensitive personal information. I do a quick Google search and see a lot of results on this subreddit saying to contact support and that they lift it. Now the moment I finished signing up, discord tells me that something weird is going on and asks me for a phone number to verify I am a human (mind you, this is after countless CAPTCHAs). Normally I use my self hosted, encrypted TeamSpeak, but since I'm joining them, I'm not going to ask them to move shop. I signed up to Discord since some of my friends use it for a game we play.

I am also aware this has been brought up before, but it bears repeating. This is more of a rant since I doubt that this will be fixed for me (although now that's it's public, who knows).
